Not Again!

Rapper DMX was arrested in Miami for the second time this week, after attempting to buy $45 in cocaine and marijuana from an undercover police officer on Friday (Jun 26). He is currently in custody at the Miami-Dade County jail. According to the police, 37-year-old DMX, born Earl Simmons, approached the officer, requesting to purchase "30 powder and 15 weed." Upon handing cash to the officer, DMX was taken into custody. His arrest is part of an ongoing undercover sting. DMX was also arrested on Monday (Jun 22) on a warrant for driving without a valid license, and was later released after posting a $500 bond. The embattled rapper also has a pending trial in Arizona, where he faces drug and animal cruelty charges, following a raid of his Maricopa County home.

50 Cent "I Get Money"

If everything goes according to plan, by next year 50 Cent will be one of the richest and most powerful men in all of entertainment. 50 Cent is in the midst of putting together one of the most comprehensive entertainment deals ever signed.
According to sources, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson" is on the verge of signing a 10 year deal which will give News Corp far reaching control over the 50 Cent brand. And the deal is also poised to launch the company's MySpace Records into the big leagues.
At least half of the deal will be in stock. 50 Cent will be one of the largest shareholders of News Corp. when the deal is done. Some of the terms of the proposed deal include:
-50 Cent's website Thisis50.com, one of the fastest growing websites in the world, will be acquired and run by News Corp.
-The multi-platinum 50 Cent and his G-Unit artists will move to a new G-Unit label created under MySpace Records.
-50 Cent and G-Unit music publishing.
-G-Unit book deal.
-All of 50 Cent's concert touring would be marketed and sold through a newly created News Corp entity.
-50 Cent would get his own production studio to put out film and tv projects.
While nothing has been finalized, the deal is scheduled to go into effect in 2009 , after 50 Cent and G-Unit fulfill their album requirements with Interscope Records.

Remy Ma Beats Lil Kim & Foxy Brown, She Gets 8 Years!

According to Sohh:
Incarcerated rapper Remy Ma was sentenced to 8 years in Manhattan Criminal Court today (May 13) for weapons and coercion charges.
Remy (born Reminisce Smith) was initially scheduled to be sentenced on April 23, however, Judge Rena Uviller postponed the trial until today, granting the Grammy nominated rapper's attorney, Ivan Fisher, additional time to properly prepare for the date.
On March 27, a Manhattan jury convicted Remy of first-degree assault, criminal weapons charges and attempted coercion, for shooting her former friend, Makeda Barnes-Jospeh, in the abdomen last July. The two were in a dispute over the rapper's missing $3,000-in which the Remy accused the victim of stealing.
Today, Remy wept as she pleaded to the judge.
"I stand here today as Remy Mackie," she said with tears in her eyes as she asked for leniency. "I'm a loving wife, mother and loving daughter and loving sister to my brothers and sisters."
Remy also addressed Barnes-Joseph. "I apologize for not saving you from your physical and mental scars."
Before delivering the sentence of 8 years, the judge gave a statement.
"I've learned Remy is an intelligent and charitable young woman," the judge said. "She's overcome a difficult childhood. Her music has inspired people in need. She's loved and has support from her family."
After the complementary remarks, the judge turned her remarks to accountability.
"This is somewhat of a pattern. This is not the first time she has been engaged in a violent act. She never took responsibility for her actions. This has nothing to do with rap it's about the actions of one person. Remy is an extremely angry young woman who feels the rules do not apply to her."
After the sentencing, Papoose got into a shoving match with a court officer. "All y'all want is fucking money," he yelled. "This is bullshit"
Remy's mother and others, who had painted Remy on their faces in red, had to restrain Papoose.

Young Buck Responds To 50 Cent

Here is some of Young Buck’s response to 50 Cent’s allegations of his drug use and why he was kicked out of G-Unit in a track called “My Interview”:
“Damn right I’m sipping syrup, flipping birds to get what I deserve,” Buck raps in the opening verse. “And I hear the same things that you heard/ That ‘50 kicked him out’ or ‘Buck sniffs coke and he flips out’/ It’s too late, the whole world know what I be about/ Sh–, I do make mistakes like any other man/ Sh–, I recoup off an album, quicker than you can … Am I loyal? Dr. Dre can answer that for ya.”
What do you think about that?

Now He Can Really Face Off

Singer Omarion is no longer on Columbia Records. A source at the label confirmed that the Sony imprint decided to drop the former B2K lead singer. Omarion (real name: Omari Ishmael Grandberry) signed as a solo artist to Columbia Records after B2K broke up in December 2003. His boy band was actually signed to Sony’s Epic division. Omarion’s management and production company, The Ultimate Group (TUG) has a deal with that label and released Omarion’s good friend and business partner Marques Houston’s last two CDs through Motown.

Dipset member Freekey Zekey was nearly killed last night

Dipset member Freekey Zekey was nearly killed last night, when he was involved in a near fatal, three car pile-up accident last night (April 15) in New York.
The rapper was in Harlem, at a stop light on 115th and 1st Avenue, when a Chrysler 300 hit his 2007 White S550 Mercedes Benz from behind.
The impact of the collision sent Zeke and a friend in air, landing them into a parked Hummer, where a passenger was still inside.
While the rapper's Mercedes Benz was completely totaled, Zeke escaped with his life still intact.
The Harlem rapper says he spent the night at St. Luke’s Hospital for evaluation and has since been released with minor scrapes and bruises.
“I’m just happy to know that Zeke was not severely injured”, says Dipset member Juelz Santana in a statement.
The accident followed a night of Zeke recording new material for his sophomore album, which is expected to drop in the fall.

Carmelo Anthony Arrested For DUI

All-star forward Carmelo Anthony was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence, hours after his worst game of the season. Police said the Denver Nuggets forward was pulled over for weaving and failing to dim his lights. Detective Sharon Hahn said Anthony failed a series of sobriety tests. He was charged with DUI, then taken to police headquarters before being released to a "sober responsible party," Hahn said. Anthony is due in court May 14. Mark Warkentien, the Nuggets' vice-president of basketball operations, said the team was aware of the situation but declined comment. Anthony apologized through his lawyer, Dan Recht. "Carmelo apologizes to his fans, the Denver community, his teammates and the Nuggets organization for the distraction this is causing them," He said Anthony consented to a blood test, but results won't be available for about two weeks. Last season, he was involved in a brawl at Madison Square Garden. Anthony, then the league's leading scorer, dropped the New York Knicks' Mardy Collins with a punch that cost him a 15-game suspension. In February, Anthony was ticketed in Arapahoe County for driving 25 mph over the posted speed limit. A hearing is set for next month in that speeding case.

Back 2 The Slammer!

Philadelphia rapper Beanie Sigel will spend the next three months in prison, after he was accused of violating his probation for a third time yesterday (March 28).
Probation officials revealed that Sigel provided a false urine sample, and tested positive for Xanax and Percocet five times over the past month.
Sigel, who admitted being addicted to the painkillers, and muscle relaxers was originally sentenced to six months house arrest in January, after a second probation violation.
In that case, a federal judge found out that Sigel took an unauthorized trip to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and had contact with a convicted felon.
Sigel, who spent a year in prison on a federal gun charge in 2004, was acquitted of attempted murder in 2005, one month after he was released from prison.
According to the rapper, his stint under house arrest has left him unable "to earn the living” he used to earn prior to getting into trouble with the law.
Sigel told the judge that his relapse was brought on by money problems.
He also revealed he was about to lose his house, because he can’t travel to earn money through performances.
"I'm losing everything because of this situation," Sigel said. Props allhiphop.

Update On T.I.

T.I. appeared before a federal magistrate today and entered a guilty plea, on charges of possession of an unregistered firearm, possession of machine guns and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He will not be sentenced to the year in jail until after he completes a portion of his community service.
In the year that he is awaiting sentencing, T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, must complete at least 1,000 hours of a total 1,500 hours of community service, talking to youth groups about the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.
It turns out he’s also getting hit with a 100K fine and will be subject to 3 years of probation, including one year of home detention. Still, better than 30 years in the federal penitentiary.

Remy Ma Found Guilty

Rapper Remy Ma awaited her fate in Manhattan's Criminal Court today (Mar. 27 2008) as jury deliberations came to an end with a guilty ruling.
Remy Ma and her lawyer Ivan Fisher seemed in good spirits as they entered the court earlier this afternoon. While waiting for the jury to announce the verdict, Remy appeared comfortable and relaxed.
The trial began at noon. As the jury, consisting of many cultures and ages, read their verdict, Remy placed her head on the table in shock. She was found guilty on four charges, including assault in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon anmd coercion. She was not charged with gang assault, witness intintimidation or witness tampering from a seperate incident.
Remy was then cuffed and escorted out of the court. As the door closed, she could be heard crying out, "Oh my God."
Remy's brother hollered out, "This is bullshit," as the verdict was being read. The judge ordered him to be escorted out of the court room. Remy's stylist cried because she is now out of work.
"We are very disappointed with the jury's verdict," Fisher stated. Remy wasn't ready for this. We plan to appeal all of the assault related charges."
"This is wonderful," the plaintiff's mother reacted to the guilty verdict. "God is good. There is no secret to what God can do. He reveals everything."
Judge Rena K. Uvillier denied a request by Remy's lawyer, to allow her time at home before being sentenced.
Remy faces up to 25 years in prison. A sentence date has not yet been determined.

Hold Up, Waaaaaaaaaaait!

Nate Dogg was sentenced to 3 years probation yesterday after pleading guilty to punching his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend. It’s a good thing that he will also be required to complete a ‘wife beatin’ treatment program, and he’s prohibited from owning any weapons.
Maybe that stroke has him on his contemplation, or at the very least, it’ll put his thug ass on hold for a minute.

Step Your Game Up Dvd creator Leval "Cavlar" Lyde, slain in New York

Up and coming New York rapper Cavlar was shot and killed on a Brooklyn street on 3/25/2008 as he was leaving a seafood restaurant.

Cavlar (born Leval Lyde), 36, had just begun to garner a name for himself with his "Step Your Game Up" DVDs featuring well-known stars when he met an early demise.

According to reports he was leaving Fish & Crustaceans Quality Seafood in Fort Greene at 4:50 p.m. when, as he approached the maroon jaguar owned by his child's mother, he was shot with a single bullet.

The co-owner of the restaurant, Charles Kearney, said he saw the whole thing happen.
"He fell right in front of me," Kearny told New York's Daily News.

Reportedly, the rapper had been arguing with the gunman and two men with him, all of whom ran after the shooting.

He died at Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Lyde's uncle, Clarence Lamb, called the death "senseless."
"Young people killing each other . . . is fruitless," he told the New York Post. "It's crazy, just crazy."

Cavlar was known for his affiliation with Earthquake Camp Records. He toured with Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins, and appeared on Hot 97's "DJ Kay Slay Drama Hour" and WBLS' "Wendy Williams Show."

According to Earthquake camp Records, Cavlar "honed his writing and rapping skills while serving time in New York's Arthur Kill Correctional Facility," serving time on assault and weapons charges, where the rapper first took an interest in music.

Police were looking into whether the murder might have been rap-related. Props to Sohh

Another Rapper in JAIL

You read it here first . You might remember a few months ago, Ras Kass appeared on BET’s Hip-Hop Awards show?
Well, he was on probation at that time, and he needed to get permission to leave the state. Long story short, he was in ATLANTA(without permission). What made him think nobody would see is crazy. Anyway, at that time they said ok, Ras Kass is in a MIAMI(without permission) studio working on his new album! Lock him up!
So now Ras Kass is in JAIL, and will be serving THREE years in jail for the violation.
Lucky for Ras Kass, super underground producer Domingo will be releasing the next album for him(Ras Kass), titled Institutionalized Vol 2. The irony is too thick to mention. Domingo, and Ras Kass have collaborating on Deranged Music/Re-up Entertainment. Domingo is more than respectable as a producer and is known as a very good dude. Hold it down! Ras Kass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
